Alcohol & Smoking Policy

There is absolutely no smoking allowed in the arena.
Stick Penalty Rule - New in 2010
All stick penalties are 6 minute penalites (slashing, high-sticking, cross-checking, butt-ending and spearing). If the team is scored on, the penalized player still remains in the box for the full 6 minutes, but a player from the bench is allowed to come on to return to 5-on-5.
Fighting
A fighting major called by the referees will automatically be a 5 minute major penalty and a 5 game suspension for fighting for the first offense for both players if there is no instigator. If there is an instigator, the instigator will receive a 5 game suspension and the other player will receive no suspension. A second major fighting penalty is an automatic suspension from the league.
Groundrules
Game length is three 15 minute run time periods. The clock will be stopped during the last 5 minutes of play if the score is within 3 goals or less.
1 time-out allowed per period per team. Clock will be stopped.
If the game is tied at the regulation and the floor time permits, a shootout will take place. Each team will designate 3 shooters, and if still tied then it goes to single shooters. Teams cannot repeat shooters until all have gone through. The shooters from each team perform the shootout at the same time.
Two line passes are allowed.
Floating offside line is in effect. Once the ball is past the opposing players blue line, then the ball must pass the red line to clear the zone.
High sticking the ball is a minor penalty.
Match and gross penalties are 3 game suspensions. A second match or gross penalty is an automatic suspension from the league.
A CSA approved helmet must be worn during games at all times. Any helmet that is not CSA approved will not be eligible for use during games or warm-ups. If a helmet is used without CSA approval, the player is no longer covered under the insurance of the league or arena.
Referees will be advised to crackdown on verbal abuse of the officials by administering minor penalties for unsportsmanlike conduct. This is the referees discretion.
Final standing ties will be broken in the order of head-to-head, then team plus minus, then goals against, then goals for.
